Steven Lee Reedy, 59, of Smithville, Texas was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 11, 2021 following complications with glioblastoma multiforne. Steven was born to Gerald Reedy and Edith Faye Lorton in Austin, Texas. He grew up in Wharton, Texas and attended school in West Colombia, Texas. He was confirmed and baptized in the Lutheran faith before relocating to Bastrop, Texas.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Ronald and Nell Reedy and Edward and Gladys Chudalla as well as extended family members Evelyn Buscha and Barbara Gwynn Buscha.
Steven is survived by: his long time companion, Brigitte Buscha and extended family, Bobby and Carolyn Buscha, Robert Glenn Buscha, Bobby Buscha. Jr., Trey, Brittney and Rhett Buscha and Ashton Buscha; his brothers, Jimmy Reedy, Mark Reedy and Leslie Caldwell; sister, Gaye Zadradnek and family; his nieces Mikele, Mariah, Josephine and Julia Caldwell; great nephews, Landon, Brayden and Grayson Reedy and a great niece, Claire Reedy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Steven was very dependable, worked long hours and gave each job all he had. He started in the chemical refineries on the coast, moved to Bastrop and worked at Wampler Manufacturing when coming to Bastrop. In the mid 80s he began a career with Herschap Backhoe and Ditching Company that lasted until his untimely illness.
In his younger years he enjoyed dancing and shooting pool. As he got older, his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and watching western reruns. He was a very gentle, quiet, slow to anger, simple man who didn't require a lot of material things. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with friends and family and for those he will be greatly missed
