He was confirmed and baptized in the Lutheran faith before relocating to Bastrop, Texas.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Ronald and Nell Reedy and Edward and Gladys Chudalla as well as extended family members Evelyn Buscha and Barbara Gwynn Buscha.

Steven was very dependable, worked long hours and gave each job all he had. He started in the chemical refineries on the coast, moved to Bastrop and worked at Wampler Manufacturing when coming to Bastrop. In the mid 80s he began a career with Herschap Backhoe and Ditching Company that lasted until his untimely illness.

In his younger years he enjoyed dancing and shooting pool. As he got older, his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and watching western reruns. He was a very gentle, quiet, slow to anger, simple man who didn't require a lot of material things. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with friends and family and for those he will be greatly missed
