Ruby Cooper

Ruby Jane (Farris) Cooper, 80, of Smithville, TX, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on March 2, 2022, while she was surrounded by all her family, they all love her dearly and she will definitely be missed.

Ruby (Janie) was born and raised in Lebanon, Indiana. She married Edward Cooper in 1957 and they had six kids together and raised their family in Indiana, in 2007 they moved to Texas. Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was a mother/grandmother to many. Ruby loved cooking, spending time with family, spoiling all the grandkids, and going to Wal-Mart. Ruby's grandkids nicknamed her gravy granny cause she was famous for her handmade gravy and her fudge and how long her hair was. She taught all her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids to love the Lord, have respect, and to give, even if it was their last.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruby Farris; daughter, Tina Marie Cooper; husband, Edward Cooper Sr.; grandson, Ronnie Joe Cooper;  great granddaughter, Italy Cooper, Jedda Santos; great grandson, Harry Cash Cardin, Teddy Farris; granddaughter, Judy Herrin; sister, Joann, Claira, Florabell, brother, John; and

Ruby is survived by daughter, Jenny Cooper Young (late husbands, Ronnie Cardin, Walter Cooper, Freddie Young) of Smithville, TX; Tamie Cardin (late husband, Timmy Cardin) of Smithville, Tx; Johnny Cooper (Bobbie) of Azle, Texas, Tony Cooper (Debbie) of Smithville, TX,  Edward Cooper (Ollie) of Smithville, TX;; granddaughter, Myra; sister, Joann, Claira, Florabell,  sister-in-law, Allie May of Lafayette, IN; 51 grandkids; 77 great grandkids;  and 10 great great grandkids, 138 all together.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8th, and Wednesday, March 9th, 2022, from 9:00am-9:00pm in the chapel of Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop, TX. Funeral services will be Thursday,  March 10th, at 10:00am in the chapel of Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home.
