Paula Bringhurst

August 9, 1962 — June 4, 2022

Paula Joe Bringhurst, 59, of Dale, Texas, passed away June 4, 2022.

Paula was born August 9th, 1962 in Austin, Texas, to Patricia Reeves and Richard Zimmerman Sr.

Paula was always a very spirited person, who did everything worth doing with passion. She was always very much the tomboy growing up. She greatly enjoyed competing in Barrel Racing as a teen, and as she got older enjoyed time spent dancing and having fun at the Broken Spoke. She was a fierce protector and fighter to those she held the closest to her heart, and loved even more fiercely than that.

Her first loves came with the births of her sons, Ronnie and Jon, followed by the love of her life, Abel Bringhurst, and last, but definitely not least, the adoption of her beautiful daughter, Willow.

Paula loved to listen to country music while reading a good fantasy book. She greatly enjoyed pastimes of playing fantasy games online with her family, painting, crocheting and made some of the best Chicken Fried Steak you've ever had. She was always overjoyed to spend time with her family and friends, especially with her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as Mimi.

Paula's love, memory, and legacy will be carried on by those she is survived by: mother, Patricia Reeves of Dale, Texas; her husband of 31 years, Abel Bringhurst of Dale, Texas; son, Ronald "Ronnie" Zimmerman and wife, Melissa Zimmerman of Dale, Texas; son, Johnathan Jones and wife, Tasha Michalenko-Jones of Bastrop, Texas; and beautiful daughter, Willow Jones of Bastrop, Texas.

Paula had 7 grandchildren, that she affectionately called her "Mimi's Monkeys"; Ronald Zimmerman Jr, Devon Jones, Jackson Zimmerman, Willow Jones, Brayden Jones, Grayson Jones, and Harvey Zimmerman. She is also survived by her 6 sisters, Phoebe Carroll, Patricia Irene Alexander, Michelle Zimmerman Prassel, Audrey Sansom, Eleonor Sansom, and Emily Sansom; and brothers, Allen Zimmerman and James Zimmerman.

Paula had many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she loved very much.

She is preceded in death by paternal parents, Richard Zimmerman Sr., Robert Sansom, and Elton Reeves; brother, Richard "Ricky" Zimmerman, Jr.; and niece, Brittney Zimmerman.
