Bastrop

On Monday March 8, 2021, Maria Estela Flores, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at the age of 62.

Estela was born on July 13, 1958 in Salamanca, Guanajuato and was raised by her loving grandmother Isidra Lira “Mama Chila.” On March 2, 1974 she married Filimon Flores and raised six sons Nicholas, Alejandro, Juan, Jesus, Francisco, Jose, and daughter Blanca.

A loving mother, grandmother, and wife she enjoyed crocheting blankets and making clothing for herself and the family, even after she lost her sight. Her caring and nurturing ways extended to her many children and grandchildren, which she loved and cherished. She was known for her quick wit, infectious smile, kind, and compassionate spirit, “y su Chifle.”

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 15th 2021 at the Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home on Old Austin Hwy at 9:00am.

We are celebrating her life at Osprey Hall South Shore Lake, Bastrop Park following the ceremony.
