Lucille A. Kullenberg

October 3, 1929 ~ June 13, 2022 (age 92)


Lucille A. Kullenberg of Bastrop, Texas, received her angel wings at the age of 92 on Monday, June 13, 2022 while at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Lucille was born October 3, 1929 in a very small town in Texas to Raymond and Elizabeth Sehon. On February 15, 1953 she married the love of her life, H.S. Kullenberg. Together the two of them remained in Bastrop raising their two children. Lucille retired from the Bastrop school district as a teachers aide.

Lucille remained an active and longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Bastrop. She was a devoted volunteer for the Alzheimer’s respite program along with volunteering her time at local nursing homes. In March 2022 she celebrated 50 years as an active member of the Bastrop Eastern Star.

Anyone who has ever had the honor of knowing Lucille knew she was an angel walking this earth. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Lucille enjoyed being outside in her garden and spending time with the ones she loved.

Lucille is survived by her son Harvey Kullenberg, Sr and son in law Byron Rentfro, siblings Raymond Sehon, LeeRoy Sehon, Richards Sehon, Louis Sehon, James Sehon, Dorothy Helpert, and Jennette Marek. She is also survived by a legacy of 11 grandchildren and many, many great grandchildren.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, H.S. “Kully” Kullenberg of Bastrop Texas. Lucille and Kully were married for 55 years. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Theresa Rentfro of Bastrop Texas and sister Mildred Peterson of Lakeland Minnesota.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Bastrop Building Fund in the memory of Lucille Kullenberg.
