June Johnson Pace, 74, passed away at home on July 13, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Pace II; sister, Jeanne Johnson Freeman; nephew, Shay Shafie (Buffy); great-nephew, Garrett McKinney.

She is survived by step-daughter, Sarah Pace Caire (John); four step-grandchildren, Matthew (Megan), Jessica Valle (Arnold); Neal Caire (Catherine), Gregory Caire; brother, John Johnson; niece, Sherene Mayner (Chris); nephew, Shad Shafie (Delaine); three great-nieces; 1 great-nephew.

June met her husband Rob in New Orleans, LA. They began married life together, owning and running gift shops in the French Quarter. They moved to Ft. Myers, FL, where they owned and operated an advertising agency.June finally returned to Texas when they moved to Bastrop in 1998 and they lovingly restored their Pine St. home. Rob and June enjoyed their time antiquing, driving the back country roads in search of blue bonnets, and working with the Bastrop Historical Society.

June retired from Bastrop County Court System and spent her time loving and caring for her dachshunds, Cooper and Parker. These beloved pets were just two of the many dachshunds June loved and cared for over the years. June enjoyed family visits with Scrabble games held long into the night. She loved dining out with close friends and everyone looked forward to her Christmas cookies which she lovingly shared with her family and friends.

A graveside service will be held in Covington, LA. A celebration of June's life will be held in Bastrop at a later date. Donations may be made to the Bastrop Historical Society.
