Jose Martinez Ramirez

Jose Michel Martinez Ramirez, 31, of Cedar Creek, went home to be with his heavenly father on August 21st,2021.

Jose was born July 25th, 1990 in Ixmilquilpan, Hidalgo, the son of Alejo Nonthe Pena and Marciana Martinez Ramirez. He graduated Bastrop High School in 2008 and proceeded to graduate twice at Texas State University in 2012 with a Bachelors in Spanish and in 2015 with a Master in Spanish. Jose/Mike had an amazing work ethic, servant’s heart, love for family, and a firm foundation in Jesus.

Jose worked his way through college, eventually becoming a manager at Polo Ralph Lauren. After college, he did bookkeeping for his father’s small engine repair shop, and eventually began similar work at EPIC Entertainment, often being an organizer of chaos in both jobs.Jose/Mike spent abundant time leading and serving in several capacities at church. For several years he served at two different churches, BCOC and The Austin Stone. When he decided to serve at one church alone, he made sure to join multiple service teams, helping welcome people, cleaning up after worship, and teaching in kids ministry. He never saw it as a burden, but as an opportunity to love others.

To his family, he was a provider, comforter, and prayer warrior. Over the last years of his life he moved back home to be near them. He left his family with so many beautiful memories that they will carry in their hearts forever.He was faithfully committed to reading Scripture and prayer to deepen his walk with the Lord, training his mind and heart for the work and life of ministry. He showed incredible discipline in pursuing a life worthy of the calling of Jesus Christ, and welcomed others into that journey.

Jose/Mike is survived by his parents Alejo and Marciana of Cedar Creek, his brother Emanuel, Alex and his sister Elizabeth. His paternal grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and close friends he impacted throughout his journey in life.

Nació el 25 de julio de 1990 en Ixmilquilpan, Hidalgo, hijo de Alejo Nonthe Pena y Marciana Martinez Ramirez. José se graduó de Bastrop High School en 2008 y se graduó dos veces en Texas State University en 2012 con una licenciatura en español y en 2015 con una maestría en español. José/Mike tenía una ética de trabajo asombrosa, un corazón de siervo, amor por la familia y una base firme en Jesús.

José abrió camino en la universidad y finalmente se convirtió en gerente de Polo Ralph Lauren. Después de la universidad, se ocupó de la contabilidad del pequeño taller de reparación de motores de su padre y, finalmente, comenzó un trabajo similar en EPIC Entertainment, a menudo organizando el caos en ambos trabajos. José/Mike pasó mucho tiempo liderando y sirviendo en varias capacidades en la iglesia. Durante varios años sirvió en dos iglesias diferentes, BCOC y The Austin Stone. Cuando decidió servir solo en una iglesia, se aseguró de unirse a varios equipos de servicio, ayudando a dar la bienvenida a las personas, limpiando después de la adoración y enseñando en el ministerio de niños. Nunca lo vio como una carga, sino como una oportunidad para amar a los demás.

Para su familia, él era un proveedor, consolador y guerrero de oración. Durante los últimos años de su vida, regresó a casa para estar cerca de ellos. Dejó a su familia con tantos hermosos recuerdos que llevarán en sus corazones para siempre. Estaba fielmente comprometido con la lectura de las Escrituras y la oración para profundizar su caminar con el Señor, entrenando su mente y corazón para la obra y la vida del ministerio. Mostró una disciplina increíble al perseguir una vida digna del llamado de Jesucristo y dio la bienvenida a otros en ese viaje.

A Jose/Mike le sobreviven sus padres Alejo y Marciana de Cedar Creek, su hermano Emanuel, Alex y su hermana Elizabeth. Sus abuelos paternos, tíos, tías, primos y amigos cercanos a los que impactó a lo largo de su viaje en la vida.
