Jesse Castillo Sr.

Jesse Ayala Castillo Sr. was born November 28, 1940 in Richmond, TX to Jose A. Castillo & Isabel Gonzales.  Jesse passed away on December 18, 2020 at the age of 80 years and 21 days. He lived most of his life in Houston, TX, then relocated to Bastrop, TX in 1998.

He had a love for the outdoors, being in the country and saltwater fishing, as long as he could touch land. He was very humble and had a laugh that was contagious. The love for his family was immeasurable and a joy to watch. His eyes would light up when he was around a baby.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carmen. His sister Maria Rodriguez, husband Celedonio; brother Joe Castillo Jr., wife Elvira; his three sons Richard, Jesse Jr., Lawrence, along with daughter in laws Holly, Janie, Hope, and Emma; 12 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Genaro (Henry) Castillo, grandson Lawrence Castillo II, and great-great granddaughter Melody Ellis.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on behalf of Jesse Castillo or to the family, contact Andrea Ellis.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 27, 2020 and 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home with burial following at Upper Cedar Creek Cemetery.
