Harold Preston Tyner passed away December 23, 2022 at the age of 90.

Born September 21, 1932, to Mid Dean and Doris Tyner in Kerens, Texas. Brother to Barbara Jean and Jimmy Tyner. Graduated from Kerens High School in 1950.

Served in the United States Army, 82nd Air Borne Division, graduated from OCS as a 2nd Lieutenant.  Specialized in chemical warfare, artillery and as a Paratrooper Jump Master during the Korean War.

Harold was an entrepreneur at heart owning his own grocery store, a restaurant, ran a successful tree farm nursery, owner of an insurance agency and was in the cattle and horse business.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Mid Dean and mother Doris Tyner, his sister Barbara Jean Jenkins, and his daughter Barbara Marie Bienvenu.

Survived by wife Laverne, daughter Beth and husband Ed, daughter Amy, grandchildren Coby and Zachry, brother Jimmy, three great granddaughters, six great great grandchildren, three nieces and five nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:00am to 11:00am on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home.  The funeral home is located at 505 Old Austin Highway in Bastrop, Texas.

Graveside Military Honors and burial will take place at Old Red Rock Cemetery at 12:00pm on Friday, December 30, 2022.
