Dolores Guillory Boudreaux

September 20, 1937 — April 25, 2020

Dolores Mary Boudreaux entered into rest on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Cedar Creek, Texas.  She was 82 years old.  She was born September 20, 1937 to the late Joseph Guirvy Guillory and Evelena Fontenot in Iowa (Holmwood), Louisiana.

Beloved mother of Harold Boudreaux, Jr., Rachel Ann Thompson, Luecinder Mary Booker, Bridget Parker, and Darrell Lee Boudreaux.  A dear grandmother of 10, a great-grandmother of 15, an aunt, and a friend to many.

Dolores worked at City Service Refinery cooking and preparing meals in the cafeteria.  At a point in her life she held two jobs to make ends meet.  She worked at a doughnut shop or at the church rectory cleaning and cooking for the priest.  After 27 years, she retired from the Calcasieu Parish School Board as a school bus driver.

Dolores was an active member with the Catholic Church.  Dolores taught religious education and visited and talked at the local prison.  She touched many people with her prayers.

Dolores’ favorite song was Ave Maria.

Hail Mary, full of grace,

The Lord is with Thee.

Blessed art thou among women, and

Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Pray for us!

Amen

In Dolores’ own words: “I’m gonna take that with me!”
