Vickie Moncure

Vickie Marie Moncure (Seidel), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, and friend - after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the age of 62, surrounded by the love of her family at their home in Richmond, Texas.

Vickie was born on May 23, 1964, in Bastrop, Texas to Bernard and Barbara Seidel. She graduated from Bastrop High School in 1982 and from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising, an accomplishment of which she remained immensely proud throughout her life. A devoted Longhorn, her love for UT never faded – even her custom license plate proudly reads “UT Girl.”

Vickie started dating her lifelong partner, Tim Moncure, in high school 46 years ago. Both knew then they were meant for each other and had met the love of their lives. Vickie and Tim married in 1987 and built a beautiful life based on faith, family, friendship, and love. This year they celebrated their 39 years of marriage.

After welcoming their three sons, Caleb, Chad, and Cody, Vickie embraced her role as a stay-at-home mother with tremendous joy and purpose. She was deeply grateful for the opportunity to devote herself fully to raising her boys while Tim worked faithfully to provide for their family. Whether volunteering at their schools, attending school events, cheering from the sidelines at countless baseball and football games through college, or creating a loving and welcoming home, Vickie treasured every season of motherhood. Her children were her greatest pride, and she considered raising them one of life’s greatest blessings. She was their biggest cheerleader not only in school and sports, but in life.

Vickie worked in fashion and retail, starting at Palais Royal and spending the last eighteen cherished years at Magpie’s Gifts in Houston. She started as their monogrammer then later became their Social Media and Marketing Director. More than a workplace, Magpie’s became a second family. The friendships she formed there endured throughout her life and were a testament to the love, kindness, and loyalty she shared with others. During her final months, the women/sisters of Magpie’s surrounded Vickie and her family with extraordinary care—organizing meals, delivering thoughtful gifts, planting flowers for her to enjoy when she returned home, placing a statue of the Blessed Mother Mary outside her window, and offering countless acts of love and support. Their devotion reflected the deep impact Vickie had on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

Vickie loved her family and friends unconditionally. She was known for her loving heart, unwavering devotion, nurturing spirit, humility, and joy. She had a special gift for making others feel seen and cared for, whether through a home-cooked meal, a thoughtful conversation, or the perfect gift chosen with love and intention. Vickie was effortlessly elegant, known for her timeless sense of style and impeccable taste. She brought beauty to everyday life and carried herself with a grace that reflected the kindness within her heart.

Of all the roles she cherished, being “Vivie” to her four grandchildren— Cooper, Lillian, Claire, and Elowen—was her favorite title. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with them, creating memories they will carry forever.

Vickie loved her dogs - especially her German Shepherds, flowers, organizing, participating in the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot with her boys, family beach and river trips, and traveling with Tim to their favorite place, The Villas in St. Martin. Watching the sunset beside Tim was one of her greatest joys.

A woman of deep faith, Vickie turned to God for strength throughout every season of life. She faced every challenge with remarkable courage and grace. Even in the face of cancer, she was never afraid. Her trust in God remained steadfast, and she continued to focus on loving and caring for others until the very end. Vickie reflected Christ’s love through her genuine compassion, generosity, and concern for others. Through both her words and example, she taught her children the importance of selflessness, kindness, and loving others unconditionally. Her legacy of faith, love, and grace will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Vickie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 39 years, Tim; her three sons: Caleb (Heather), Chad, Cody (MacKenzie); her cherished grandchildren: Cooper, Lillian, Claire and Elowen; her parents: Bernard and Barbara Seidel; her sisters: Diane Seidel, Donna Dennis (Joe), Jane Brown (Donald), brother-in-law: Joey Foytik, sister-in-laws: Melinda Bender (Carl), Alisa Williams (Jimmie), 20 nieces and nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Caryl Seidel and Joan Foytik, her nephew: Cameron Brown, and her brother-in-law: Greg Moncure.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who supported Vickie during her valiant fight with cancer. Vickie was a ray of sunshine, always beaming with joy and had a beautiful, infectious smile. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered for the love she gave so freely and the light she brought to the lives around her. She was a pillar of strength, wisdom and love and we are all better people for having her in our lives.

Services will be held Thursday, July 9th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockne, Texas – with a 9:45am Visitation, 10am Eulogy, 10:30am Funeral Mass, 11:45am Graveside Committal at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, followed by a 12:00pm reception and lunch in the Church Hall.
