Obituary

Timothy Gene Gage, (Tim) enabled by his faith in Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, entered into the glory of Heaven, Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Silver Pines Nursing & Rehab Center in Bastrop, Texas.

Back in the day, Tim was a deejay who loved music - especially the Beatles and The Who. When he wasn't deejaying he took care of people facing challenges in every day life.

As a young man, Tim had a photographic memory and an appetite for learning everything! His last voicemail to his sister was to inform her of the arrival of the first day of Autumn.

A cheeseburger, tater tots, Coke Zero, and chocolate were Tim's happy places. He was always so thankful for the small things. He would say "thank you" in person, and then call later to say "thank you" again, in case he forgot.

Tim's family, friends and Silver Pine's staff will best remember his "Goodbyes" which were always said with his own kind of flare in 8 languages!

Tim is survived by his sister, Tracy Hipe, her husband Steve, his nephew - Nathan Hipe, his niece Andrea Hipe/Molina, but Tim called her "George," and his niece Glory Hipe, whom Tim called, "Horace."

Tim's wishes were to have no viewing and no service. However, his family and a dear friend will celebrate Tim's life by enjoying burgers, tots, cokes and chocolate together sometime soon.

Tim's family wishes to thank Darlene Benoit for being so sweet to Tim. She used to cut his hair, trim his beard, and laugh at his antics.

Tim's family thanks LVN Abby, Activity Director Sunya, Transport/CNA Juanne, Business Office Manager Amy, and Administrator Sara at Silver pines Nursing and  Rehab Center.  You are precious, precious people!

Tim's family would also like to thank Pastor Billy Helm for talking to Tim about Jesus! You bring the Spirit of Peace and True Life every time you enter the building.

In remembrance of Tim, his family would like to share with you that Jesus gave His life to set you free from the power of death and to unite you with God, your Father. Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. You cannot earn eternal life, or buy it. It is a gift freely given on the cross and only received through faith, believing that Jesus was raised to life again and that He is the Son of The Most High God.

Tomorrow is not guaranteed, so we invite you to put your faith in Jesus as your Savior today.
