Sandra Justice

Sandra Kay Barnard Justice (Momma J/Granny) 68, of Bastrop, TX, left this world on November 30 2023. She passed away at Dell Seton Medical Center after her MICU team fought hard to keep her alive long enough for her brother and children to say goodbye.

She was born on November 1 1955 in Taylor, TX to Jimmy Ray Barnard and Georgie Annette Kalinec. Sandra married Robert Wayne Justice on March 7 1974. They lived in Bastrop for the next 40+ years where they raised 4 wonderful children. She worked for the State of Texas for over 20 years, as an accountant for several state agencies. Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved coaching baseball/softball, playing softball, fishing in Port O’Connor, quilting, and spending time with her family and extended family. She was a strong, courageous woman who spent her last years retired, visiting family in Idaho and gambling in Louisiana. Sandra lived life to the fullest and she did it her way.

Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne Justice, her father, Jimmy Ray Barnard, her mother, Georgie Ann Barnard.

She is survived by her children, Chris and Tassie Justice, Reneé Justice-Davila, Robert and Monica Justice, Jennifer Justice and Eric Goertz. Grandchildren, Shawndra and Dustin Saunders, Cody Calvo and Anissa Silva, Dylan Justice, Emeril and Courtney Mahaffey, Tristen and Faith Heinzke, Tyler Justice and Elizabeth Tabor, Kwen Justice, Sophia Justice and Ryder Davila, and 7 great grandchildren. Other survivors include brother Randal Barnard, Marilyn Ethridge, Albert Kalinec, Bettye and Claude Carpenter, and Terry Griffith.

The family thanks the staff at Frensius Kidney Care in Bastrop, her ongoing medical care team, and the phenomenal MICU team at Dell Seton Medical Center.

All services will be held at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop, TX. Monday, December 11: Viewing 4pm-6pm. Rosary begins at 6pm. Tuesday, December 12: Funeral Services 10am.

A celebration honoring Sandra will be held at 12pm at Sacred Heart Old Schoolhouse off of 535 in Rockne TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the kidney foundation of your choice.
