Ruth Ella Roeber, age 69, of Austin, Texas, was welcomed into heaven on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. She was surrounded by her brother and sisters.
Ruth loved the Lord Jesus and was always seeking to draw close to Him. She was known for her friendliness and laughter, as well as her generosity. Ruth loved spending time with her miniature poodle, Cody. They were both well known in her neighborhood where they took frequent walks, visiting with neighbors along the way. Her yard was a testament to her love of gardening, sporting garden beds and pots filled with flowers and plants. Ruth had a great appreciation of music and loved to play the guitar and sing. She made family gatherings more enjoyable with her beautiful voice and delicious dishes and treats. Ruth always loved hearing and telling a good joke and seemed to have an endless resource of them.
Ruth had a long career at the Texas Department of Transportation. She worked for many years as a secretary and then through classes and determination moved into an IT position.
Prior to her passing, Ruth had been ill and in the hospital for an extended period of time. She was known by the hospital staff for her love for the Lord, her indomitable spirit, and her care for those around her.
Ruth will be forever remembered by her sisters and brother, Mary Bradfield (Ed), Dorothy Roeber, John Roeber, and Margarret Nanyes (Michael Williams). Ruth will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
Memorials in memory of Ruth may be made to the Salvation Army.
