An amazing mother , wife , and  Parks and Wildlife employee, Rose B. Gilson will always be remembered and celebrated for many years to come.

Rose B. Gilson passed away on November 23, 2022  due to heart failure, surrounded by  loving hearts and caring souls who still strive to honor her memory by keeping their heads held high and the motivation to keep moving forward in life.

Rose was a loving mother who taught her child to fight for what they want and to stick together no matter how hard life gets. She worked for nearly 26 years with a great caring company referred to as TPWD (Texas Parks and Wildlife Department). She was a humorous woman who loved to make people smile, laugh  and help others with her wisdom.

Rose is survived by her husband William , son Luke , and daughter Allison .  Also survived by her mother, sister , two brothers , and many nieces and nephews. As well as her entire extended family and the amazing community that loves her and whose lives were changed because of her courageous spirit.


A Celebration of Rose's life will be held Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home. The funeral home is located at 505 Old Austin Highway in Bastrop, Texas.

Family and friends will gather from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. From 2:00pm to 3:00pm the family and friends will have the oportunity to share memories and fun stories about Rose.
