Bastrop

Roger Clinton Osborn, a 6th generation Texan, of Bastrop, Texas died on Monday, January 25, 2021 at home. Roger was born 68 years ago in downtown Bastrop, Texas at the F.A. Orgain Memorial Hospital on Church Street, on May 10, 1952 to Marvin C Osborn (Bob) and Martha Valine Osborn (Valine).  Roger was the oldest of three, his sister Claydeen Osborn Harrell and Forrest Lynn Osborn.  He married his high school sweetheart, Carey Lee Goodwill on November 17, 1973.

Roger graduated from Bastrop High School in 1970 and attended Southwest Texas State University majoring in Math and minoring in Chemistry, when he realized he enjoyed plumbing more than the classroom.  Roger and Carey moved to Dickinson for a few years and moved back home to Bastrop in 1977 to start Osborn Plumbing.

Roger became a believer in Jesus Christ in 1983 while attending Bastrop Methodist Church.  He later was a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Bastrop. Roger then became the pastor of Ridgeway Baptist Church in 1989 and retired from the ministry in 2005.  His big heart and love for Jesus was shown throughout his years.  While running Osborn Plumbing and pastoring the church, he also held a school board position for two terms at Bastrop Independent School District.

Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, practicing his shooting skills at the range, hosting BBQ’s at his home for friends and family while spending time with his two grandkids.

Roger is survived by his father Marvin Clinton Osborn (Bob) and mother Martha Valine Jones Osborn (Gatesville), loving wife Carey Lee Goodwill Osborn (Bastrop), Kellie Diane Osborn Adkins and husband Leslie Christopher Adkins (Dallas), Dr. Clinton Roger Osborn (Austin) and Michael Lee Osborn and wife Sharee Ann Marie Osborn (Bastrop).

His two grandkids: Jaydden Bachelor Mann Osborn and Layna Lee Osborn.

His sister and brother in law (though he thought of him as a brother) Claydeen Osborn Harrell and Mike Harrell and many nieces and nephews.

Roger is predeceased by his brother Forrest Lynn Osborn.
