Weldon Swearingen, 66, died October 12, 2017 at Tiner Hill. There will be a celebration of Life Memorial Service at Watterson Hall on Thursday, October 19th at 4pm.


Weldon was born on July 29, 1951 in Austin Texas to Douglas and Elnora Swearingen. Growing up he enjoyed showing animals, hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. He shared a passion o coon hunting and hog hunting with his Dad. They would take anyone that wanted to tag along with them, the more the merrier. He served our country in the United States Air Force. He had various jobs over the years including the oilfield and BISD and made many friends along the way.


He married Vanessa in 1972 and they were blessed with 3 beautiful daughters. One went to heaven the day after she was born. His other daughters went on to have the most precious gifts he cherished, a grandson and 3 granddaughters. Everyone you talk to says he was always bragging about his grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his father, Douglas Swearingen and a daughter, Sandra Lee Swearingen. He is survived by his daughter Wendy and her husband Billy Wayne Reid, their two children Kaleb and Kenadee, his daughter Tami "TJ" and her husband Robby Justice, their daughters Jayda and Rylee "Shorty". Vanessa, the mother of his 3 daughters, his mother Elnora Swearingen, three sisters Violet and husband Mike Johns, Starr and husband Jimmy Waneck, Donna and husband Mark Bartsch, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A very dear friend Kathy Laake and a nephew that he treated like a son Troy "Cotton" Trammel.


Honorary pallbearers are Billy Wayne Reid, Kaleb Reid, Robby Justice, Troy "Cotton" Trammel, John Bartsch, Kelly Daugherty, Joe Tiner, Troy Wayne Tiner, Travis Carter, Wes Trigg and Elroy Whitworth.
