Rettie Lehman

Rettie Lehman (Maw Maw) of Cedar Creek, TX, passed away and went to be with our Lord Jesus on October 13, of 2021 at the age of 93. She was born on October 10th of 1928, in Anderson, IN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Clarence Lehman; her parents, Earl and Martha Coppess; brothers, Clem, Gene, Michael, and Lowell Coppess; and sister, Colette Redd.

She is survived by her daughter, Rosa Lehman of Cedar Creek, TX; son, Julius Lehman and wife, Laura of Kyle, TX. Grandsons, Jordan Lehman of Kerrville, TX and Hunter Lehman and wife, Marissa of Cotulla, TX. Brothers, Ben Coppess of Spanaway, WA, Tom Coppess of Elwood, IN, and sister, Annette Hamilton of Shelbina, MO.

She was a dedicated civil servant in Kokomo, IN and Iceland where she met her husband, Julius. She also in later years worked for the IRS in Austin, TX. She enjoyed doing many different crafts projects like painting, ceramics with her grandsons, as well as baking cookies with them when they were younger. Later when the grandsons began playing baseball, she was a most faithful and vocal fan.

We would like to thank Jimmy and Heather of Visiting Angels for their help in taking care of Maw Maw over the last couple of years. Also, we want to thank Texas Home Health Hospice for their care and support.

Graveside service will be in Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop, Texas at 3:00pm on Monday, October 18, 2021. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
