Oscar Albert Friske was the fourth sibling of five born to Ben and Hildegarde (Probst) Friske on December 4th, 1929 in Rockne, Texas. He was called from this life on March 30th, 2024.
He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Erlene Goertz (Bill), Dorothy Goertz (Otto), brothers; Marvin Friske and William Friske (Janice Goertz) and son Michael Friske and grandson Gordon Schwenk.
He is survived by his children; Gary (Joyce Elaine), Joyce and Cathy (Eric); 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Oscar was raised in Rockne and attended Sacred Heart School. He was proud of his Rockne roots and forged close relationships with the community. At seventeen he convinced his mother to sign a release so he could join the US Navy in 1946. He served 5 amazing and memorable years. He had many great memories from being in the Navy. He then worked 29 years for the Texas National Guard. He made many memories and lifelong friends during this tenure.
His last year and a half was at Argent Court Assisted Living in Bastrop. He was well taken care of and enjoyed his remaining time there. He met old friends and made new ones and became close with the staff and appreciated them immensely.
Oscar was greatly loved and admired and will be missed.
