Nina Carol Opphile was born in Marysville, Ohio, to Carroll and Mary Opphile.
At nine, she moved to Texas, settling in San Antonio, then Denison, and in 1951, to Galveston where she met her first husband. There, she gave birth to her only child, a son.
During her life in Galveston, she worked as a secretary for O’Connell High, and later The University of Texas Medical Branch until her retirement.
After her first marriage ended, she eventually met and married Billy Fox. Together, they enjoyed travelling in their RV to many exciting destinations.
After living in Galveston until 2011, they moved to Bastrop.
Nina was a very creative lady. She excelled in: homemaking, sewing, painting, gardening, and cooking. Later in life, she continued her artistic expression with quilting.
Throughout life, her deepest joy was loving and caring for the many dogs and cats to which she gave a home. This was her passion.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Fox, her father, her mother, her stepfather, Paul Lasko, and her brother, Ronnie Opphile and his wife, Judy.
