Mary Goertz

Mary Jane Goertz entered the arms of the Lord on October 21, 2016 at the age of 77. She was born in Rockne, Texas, and was the daughter of Fred M. and Mary A. Goertz.

She touched countless lives with her smiles. She was blessed by the sensitive and constant devotion of her family.

She often repeated the truism, "Laughter is the best medicine." She loved music and sing-alongs and had a special ability to remember lyrics.

She is survived by her sisters Annabel Harris, Yvonne Darilek and her husband Julius, Rose Parris, Joy Goertz, and Sandra Higgins and her husband Felix. She is also survived by her brothers Steve Goertz and his wife Barbara, Johnny Goertz, Danny Goertz, and Bob Goertz and his wife Lori. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Don Johnson and Bob Bishop, her sister-in-law Ovon Goertz, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Fred Goertz, her mother Mary A. Goertz, her sisters Joann Johnson, Isabel Bishop, and Claudette Griffith, and her brothers Frederick Goertz and Jim Goertz.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockne, Texas. Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. after Visitation. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery following Mass.
