Marvin Wilhelm was born in the Watterson Community on September 22, 1930 to
Philip Wilhelm and Annie Wilhelm. He grew up helping on the family farm and attending
school in Rockne, Texas until he met the love of his life, his wife, Dorothy Michalski.

Marvin started his career on the milk route in Lockhart, Texas and worked there for years.
He worked with Matthew Bartsch as a mechanic until he began working for the county
doing road maintenance operating heavy equipment. After many years, he then began
his career at TXDot in 1966. He travelled and built roads all over Texas. Eventually he
began hanging road signs in Bastrop, Texas until he retired in February of 1991.

Marvin was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockne and enjoyed
donating his vegetables and other items to the church bazaars for their auctions.

In Marvin's younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting with friends and family. He
also loved dancing. As the years went by and his wife Dorothy passed away, he found
joy in eating breakfast with friends and family at the green store in Rockne, playing
dominos at the Old Red Rock Schoolhouse with other senior citizens, working on his
farm and being surrounded by his family.

Marvin lived a long, wholesome life and enjoyed the simple things life had to offer. He
is loved by many and will be missed by those he has left. He was a good father, a good
grandfather and a loyal friend.
