Maria Rangel

On Friday, October 15th, Maria De La Luz De Jesus Rangel, loved by her parents, siblings, children, extended family, and friends, passed away at the age of 34. Maria was born on June 4th, 1987 in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato. She grew up in Bastrop, TX and attended Bastrop High School. Though her time with us was cut short, she will be remembered and cherished for the love she brought into this world as the mother of three wonderful children, Macy, Carlos, and Eli, who she loved fiercely.

There is a lot that could be said about Maria, but for those closest to her, she will be remembered as a person of compassion and grace. Through all of the trials that life threw her way, Maria was a genuine, caring individual with a good heart, persistent positivity, and continuing hope. She was forgiving, kind, and loving. She was loved.

Maria is preceded in death by her father, Ignacio Rangel, Sr.

She is survived by her mother, Marta Rangel; her brothers, Jose and Ignacio Jr.; her sister, Juana Mabry; her three children, Macy, Carlos, and Eli, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, October 22nd, at 6:30pm followed by a 7:00pm Rosary at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home.  Funeral services for Maria will be held on Saturday, October 23rd, at 9:30am at Ascension Catholic Church in Bastrop, TX. Burial will be held after Mass at Upper Cedar Creek Cemetery in Cedar Creek, TX.
