Linda Grommet

Linda Darnell Grommet (Conn), passed away on March 5, 2022, in Bastrop Texas.

Linda was born on August 5, 1950, to Vernon Floyd and Rachel Loeta Conn.  She got her education in the   Baker, OR and Gering, NE school systems. After having achieved the highest grade on the nursing test in Nebraska, she went on to become an LPN in nursing homes for 25 years and the VA for another 11 years before retiring in 2010.  Linda was a member of the Heart of Texas Church of Christ. She also enjoyed ceramics tole painting, cake decorating, being den leader in the cub scouts, involvement with the PTA, and anything that involved her kids. Her grandchildren were the light of her life

Linda was preceded in death by parents, Vernon Floyd Conn and Rachel Loeta Williams Conn; brothers, Floyd and Ronald “Ronnie” Conn; and brother-in-law, Howard Livingood.

Linda is survived by husband, Rick Grommet; children, Holli (Grommet) Moehring and husband, John , Ricky Jr. Grommet & wife, Heather Grommet (Blinston), Ryan Grommet & wife, Heather Woodyerd; grandchildren, Ricky III Grommet,  Susannah Grommet, Reece Grommet, Tristan Grommet, Thaddeus White, Nathan Grommet, Clayton Grommet, Haleigh White; sister, Delores Livengood (Conn); brother, Donald Conn; and sisters-in-law, Kathi Wilson (Conn) and Linda Shelton (Conn); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Also, her pets Sassy and Daisy Mae.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart of Texas C.O.C. to fund an installation of handicapped parking and doors.
