Lena Ruth Webb Prokop Purcell

Lena Ruth Webb Prokop Purcell was born on October 6, 1929 In Bastrop Co, and died on October 8, 2024,2 days after her 95th birthday. She was raised in Bastrop, graduating from Bastrop High School in 1947.

She married M A Prokop Jr in 1949 and had 2 children: Mike Prokop and Debbie Cecil.

After graduating from Texas A&I University in Kingsville,Texas in 1964, she taught 4th grade in Annaville, Texas. Then moving to Austin in 1965, she taught 5th and 6th grades in AISD for 28 years, retiring in 1991.M A Prokop Jr died in 1991, and in 1996 she married Walter Purcell until his death in 2019.

She also is survived by 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 niece, 1 nephew, and many cousins.She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
