Ken Thames

February 2, 1964 — December 26, 2023

Ken Thames, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 26, 2023. Born on February 2, 1964, in Breckenridge, Texas to Rita "Nell" Waggoner and Kenneth Thames Sr., Ken touched the hearts of many throughout his life with his hardworking nature, dedication, and infectious sense of humor. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

From a young age, Ken exhibited a strong work ethic and commitment in all aspects of his life. Whether it was in his professional endeavors or his personal relationships, he always gave his best. Ken's laughter echoed through the halls wherever he went. His jovial spirit brought joy and happiness to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Ken was the kind of person you could always count on for a good laugh or a helping hand.

Outside of work, Ken had a passion for riding motorcycles. The wind in his hair and the open road beneath him invigorated his spirit. He found solace and freedom as he explored new horizons atop his beloved Harley. His ventures on two wheels allowed him to immerse himself in the beauty of nature while creating lifelong memories with loved ones who joined him on these thrilling adventures.

Ken's passing leaves a void in the lives of many who were privileged enough to call him family or friend. His late wife Barbara Thames stood by his side through thick and thin; their love was steadfast and unwavering. Ken is also survived by their son Jesse Thames, and his sister Kathy Gandy, who will forever carry on Ken's legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. In addition, Ken is preceded by his mother Rita "Nell" Waggoner, his father Kenneth Thames Sr., his sister Janet Boggess, his brother-in-law Randy Boggess, and his brother-in-law Jeff Gandy. Ken's presence in their lives brought immeasurable joy, and his memory will forever be cherished.

During this difficult time of loss, let us remember Ken for the incredible person he was. He touched so many lives with his kindness, generosity, and unyielding spirit. May we honor him by carrying forward the values he held dear – hard work, dedication, and a commitment to spreading joy wherever we go.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, let us find solace in the memories we shared with Ken. He may no longer be physically present, but his spirit will forever live on in our hearts. Rest peacefully, dear Ken – until we meet again.
