Joscelyn Barahona Moreno, 17, of Del Valle, TX passed away unexpectedly on November 16, 2023.

She was born on March 19, 2006 in Austin, TX to Nataly Moreno. She arrived on a Sunday morning and was received with the love of her mother and grandparents. She left this life on a Thursday morning and was returned to her Heavenly Father with all the love of her mother, grandparents, and siblings.

Joscelyn came into this life while her mom was coming into adulthood. Together they grew up, and Joscelyn was determined to work hard and said she wanted to be “brave and strong just like her mom.” Joscelyn never passed a day without calling or texting her mom. She did everything she could to help her mom whom she lovingly called “her friend.”

Joscelyn leaves behind six siblings whom she cared for daily. They called her, “Josie.” She was the one they could always count on to be there for them. She did not complain and did all that she could to make sure they were safe and loved. She would laugh, play with them, care for them, and took the role of being a second mom for them all. They will all miss her deeply.

Joscelyn was a typical teenage girl who loved music, spending time with friends, loved dancing, baking, and being outdoors surrounded by animals and nature. Her favorite part of the day was watching the sunset over her home. She was constantly taking pictures of everyone around her. Joscelyn was a Junior at Cedar Creek High School. She was shy initially, and then she quickly made friends. Her friends would tell you she was kind and that she cared for them all. She worked hard and aspired to a career that would allow her to support her mom and siblings.

Joselyn is survived by her mom, Nataly Moreno, and her six siblings, Allen, Zujeid, Jade, Kanty, Brandon, and Bayron all of Del Valle, TX. She is also survived by her grandparents, Jose and Susana Romero of Del Valle, TX; her uncles, Alejandro, Marcos, and Samuel Vazquez of Del Valle, TX.
