John Rauch, Jr.

John A. Rauch Jr., 77, of Bastrop, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 in Austin, Texas.

John was born at Ohio Valley Hospital in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania to John A. Rauch Sr and Evaline Louise (nee Schneider) Rauch on February 1, 1942. He attended St. Phillips Catholic School and Crafton High School in Crafton, Pennsylvania.

He joined the United States Air Force in the Fall of 1960 and his Basic Training was completed at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. He married Roberta Balbina Martinez on September 5, 1964 in Denver, Colorado. His Service to his Country was completed in 1982 at Altus AFB in Altus, Oklahoma.  At time of his retirement, John had served 21 years and 10 months. He retired Honorably as a Disabled Veteran from the Vietnam era.

John loved attending his daughters's High School Track meets and later his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's soccer games.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Roberta, daughters, Judith Ann Rauch, Elizabeth Soto (Brian Adkins) and son John A. Rauch III. His mother, Evaline Rauch of Phoenix, AZ, one Brother, Lloyd Rauch of San Angelo, TX and sister Jacqueline Rauch of Phoenix, AZ and 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his father, John A. Rauch Sr and brother Robert P. Rauch.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The American Cancer Society.  The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr.'s Kathryn Hudson, JD Hines, Mark Nugent and nursing staff at St. Davids South Austin Medical Center and Seton Main Medical Center.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 5, 2020 prior to Funeral Services which will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas

Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National cemetery on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 9:45 AM in San Antonio, Texas.   Funeral arrangements by Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral home, 505 Old Austin Hwy, Bastrop, Texas.
