John Martin

John Martin, 46, of Elgin died Tuesday, December 20 in an automobile/pedestrian accident in downtown Austin. A service to celebrate John's life was held on Wednesday, January 4 at 11:00am at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home, 505 Old Austin Highway, Bastrop.

John was a special person in many ways. His parents, Joe and Sonia Martin, loved him very much but trusted his care to his aunts, Anna Kossoff (Stan) and Paula Minyard Todish (Robert Minyard-Deceased & Bill Todish).

He also had loving cousins who considered him a brother - Brian Minyard (Judy), Troy Minyard (Laura), Terrell Epperson (Jill), Wendy Valentine (Mike), Mark Epperson, Christine Jones (Donald), and Gary Epperson.

John also had two beloved cats - Logan and Sweetie Pie who he treated like children more than pets. They will be cared for by Paula. John was a long-time employee of the State who took pride in excelling at his work and providing excellent customer service.
