Jerry Lou Buesing, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his beloved family in Austin Texas on May 20, 2024. He lived a life filled with warmth, generosity, and a deep love for his family and community. Born on October 16, 1941, in Runge, Texas, Jerry was a man of many passions and accomplishments.

In the first chapter of his professional life, Jerry dedicated himself to the world of finance as a banker at the Austin National Bank in downtown Austin. Later on, he transitioned to serve as a rural route carrier for the US Postal Service in areas around South Austin.

Throughout his life journey, Jerry's heart belonged to his family. He created countless cherished memories with them, embarking on many road trips to various points of interest both far and wide. Some of our most cherished memories involved traveling with the Telg family to the Astrodome, AstroWorld, and various spots along the Texas Coast. These adventures were not just travels but opportunities for bonding and laughter that will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.

Jerry graduated from Runge High School in 1960 where he honed his skills on the football field. At Durham-Nixon Clay College in Austin, he met the love of his life, with whom he shared nearly five decades of marriage filled with love and devotion.

Described as very generous and loving, Jerry's presence brought joy to those around him. An avid sports enthusiast, he had a special fondness for UT football and baseball. His evenings were often spent dancing to country music or attending performances by local favorites like the Sam Bentley Band. Jerry was a social butterfly who found joy in connecting with others and exploring small-town dance halls with sawdust floors.

In his quieter moments, Jerry cherished watching old Westerns on TV or tending to his garden where he nurtured tomatoes and cucumbers with care. Beyond his personal pursuits, Jerry dedicated countless hours to volunteering as the commissioner of the Pony League Baseball Club in Manchaca and serving in leadership roles at organizations like the Austin Civitan Club and the Manchaca Optimist Club.

Jerry Lou Buesing is survived by his daughter Melissa Jackson and son Craig Buesing; son-in-law Rob Jackson; granddaughter Makayla Buesing; grandson Ben Jackson; brother Royce Buesing; sister-in-law Rita Buesing; as well as many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
