Jeannette W. Pigg

Bastrop

Jeannette Watson Pigg was born in Arkansas to Waverly Lewis (WL) and Irene Woods Watson on September 24, 1929. She went peacefully into the arms of our Lord on November 25, 2022.

After growing up in Cabot, Arkansas, her family moved several times before settling in Edinburg, Texas where she met and married her one and only Billy Joe (BJ) Pigg Sr.

For most of her life-she was a homemaker before taking a job at PAN AM University working in the Credit Union before moving to Graduate Admissions. After they both retired from PAN AM, they moved to Bastrop, TX in 1987.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Billy Joe Pigg Sr; 2 brothers WL and James (Jimmy) Watson; and 1 sister, Mildred Synder.

She is survived by her 5 children, Billy Joe, Jr. "BJ" (Janice), Bobby Dean (Vicki), Beverly Jann, Barry James (Brenda) and the caboose Becky Jeanne (AB); 11 grandkids, numerous great-grandkids; 2 sisters, Mary Jane Garvin Williams and Joanne Douglas, along with many nieces and nephews plus extended friends she considered family.


Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home. The funeral home is located at 505 Old Austin Highway in Bastrop, Texas.

Graveside Services will be at 11:00am on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.  The cemetery is located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road in San Antonio, Texas.
