Mary Grace (Gracie) Rosenkranz (Fojtik)

Grace Rosenkranz, 94, of San Marcos, Texas, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas.

Grace was married to Jimmie Rosenkranz, Sr., “Rosey”, and they had 68 happy years together before his death in 2014. Grace and Jimmie lived in the Freeport and the Jones Creek areas for 40 years where they raised their four children. In retirement, they moved to Red Rock, Texas, where they enjoyed 27 wonderful years before moving to San Marcos, Texas, to be close to family.

Grace was an active member in the local community and the Catholic Church, in both Freeport and in Red Rock. She was known for her outspoken nature, and her jokes - You never knew what joke she was going to tell next! But it always brought a big “belly laugh”. Grace was an avid gardener. She could “grow just about anything”, but she loved her roses the most. She always wanted to be surrounded by family and friends and enjoyed every visit to the fullest. She always had the best stories about her younger years and was “a living history book” for family because she was the last of nine children on both “her side of the family and Jimmie’s side”. Grace never met a stranger and will be deeply missed by all the people she touched throughout her 94 years.

Grace is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie, her two sons Larry James Rosenkranz and Jimmie Thomas Rosenkranz, Jr. She is survived by her two daughters Gwen O’Barr, and husband Bill, and Monica Hammond. Eight Grandchildren, twelve great Grandchildren and three great, great Grandchildren.

All services will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4045 FM 535, Rockne, Tx –Saturday, September 16, 2023. Viewing is at 10AM; the Rosary is at 10:30AM; Mass is at 11AM. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.  A meal will be served at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Holtman Hall after the burial.

Pallbearers are Grandsons Jeremy, Jeff, Trent, Michael and Jonathon Rosenkranz. Honorary Pallbearers are great Grandsons Travis and Christopher Neumann and Daniel Rosenkranz.
