Glennis Kadura

Glennis Michael Kadura, 74, of Rockne, Texas, was called to his eternal rest on June 13th, 2025. After a long battle with cancer, he took his final breath at home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Bastrop, TX in 1951, the fifth and youngest child of William “Bill” Kadura and Dorothy “Dora” (Beck) Kadura. As a child, Glenn spent many years goofing around with his brothers, working in his dad’s store, playing softball, and learning the art of telling a good story. He graduated from Bastrop High School in 1969, and soon after joined the Air Force Reserves. In 1970 he started working in the transportation department of LCRA, where he eventually became superintendent until his retirement in 2011.

He met the love of his life Monica (Goertz) while pitching washers, and they married on September 27th, 1975. Together they raised four daughters, who were the pride and joy of Glenn’s life. An eternal jokester, he always claimed that his path to heaven was secure after being surrounded by so many women. He also bemoaned the lack of hot water for his showers.

Glenn was a man of great faith, an avid storyteller, a great cook, a talented golfer, a passionate Astros and Longhorns fan, an adored Papa, and a lover of back road driving.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Lyndell Meuth and Sherman Kadura. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Monica; their daughters Jennifer (Matt), Jessica (Grant), Courtney (Shane), and Karen; six grandchildren (Ava, Rylee, Kade, Quinn, Hayden, and Zoey); and siblings Charlene Briggs and Bill Kadura.

Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockne on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025. A rosary will be held at 10:00am, followed by the funeral Mass and internment at 10:30am. The family has requested donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
