Evelyn Klepland Barg, age 95, passed away peacefully on November 25th at Brush Country Nursing and Rehabilitation in Austin, TX. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 7, 1923 to parents Benjamin and Christina Klepland who immigrated from Norway.
Evelyn and family moved from Chicago to San Benito, TX during the great depression. Evelyn graduated San Benito H.S. and continued her education at a business college. She moved to Houston where she worked for the WKM Company. After her marriage and birth of both children the family moved to Agua Dulce, TX where they resided for 57 years.
Evelyn served as President of the Agua Dulce PTA for two years and was a member of the National PTA. She was a member of the Agua Dulce and Banquete Methodist Church until she moved to Bastrop, TX in 2007. She was a member of the Cedar Creek United Methodist Church until her death. Evelyn was a very generous and loving woman who never met a stranger.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Carol Barg of Austin, TX , cousin Bob Aarlie of New Braunfels, TX, and her nieces, nephew, and extended family. She was preceded in death by Robert, her husband of 69 years, her son Bob, her sister Bernice Brentzel, and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, December 8th at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop, TX.
