Edith Walsh

Edith Walsh of Bastrop, Texas passed away on November 11, 2018. She
was born March 6, 1926 in Hudson, New York to Ross and Lilian
Schermerhorn.

Her parents, husband Edmund J. Walsh, daughter, Gail Phillips and grandson,
John Philips preceded her in death.

Edith worked for 30 years in federal civil service, both for the U.S. Army and
U.S. Air Force. She was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, class
of 1981 and a member of the following: Life Member of Texas Exes; AARP
both national and Bastrop Chapters; National Association of Active and
Retired Federal Employees both national and Austin Chapters; and Bastrop
Senior Center.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Walsh and his wife, Lynn; granddaughter
Yvonne Phillips Zent and her husband Eric; grandsons, Christopher Walsh,
Lee Walsh and his wife Rebecca, Troy Cramer, and Richard Young and his wife
Kimberlie. She is also survived by her sister, Margery Miller and brothers, Ross
Frank, Kenneth and Robert Shermerhorn.

Graveside services were held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Thursday,
November 15, 2018 and she was buried there with her husband.
