Deborah Lynn (Debbie) Willamson, 74 of Bastrop, Texas, was called to her eternal home on June 18, 2026. After a courageous battle with cancer, she took her final breath at home with family.

She was born in Bastrop, TX in 1952, the 5th of 5 children to Muriel and Charles Meyer, Jr. Debbie was a graduate of Bastrop High School in 1970. She met Donnie and soon married her soul mate, the happy couple moved from Bastrop to Oklahoma, and then moved for Donnie’s military service to Virgina, New York, then settled back in Oklahoma for a while before residing in the Austin/Bastrop area for the last several decades.

Debbie dedicated more than 26 years of service to the Bastrop County District Clerk’s Office. She served as a full-time Deputy District Clerk for 17 years and as Chief Deputy District Clerk from 2003 through 2010. She retired on December 31, 2010, but after only 10 days she returned for a month to be a part-time temporary Court Clerk then she was rehired in 2011 as a part-time District Clerk. In 2020, Debbie finally hung up her clerk’s hat for the second and final time.

This led her to the most rewarding job as a proud grandmother. She and Donnie shared the joy of taking care of their grandson Ripp full-time for about three years.

Debbie loved her family and friends deeply and was described as funny, kind and caring. She was a friendly face at the Courthouse and never met a stranger while out and about. She was proud of her family and loved spending time with them, which was often. She also remained close with several of her high school classmates, and they would get together often as well.

There are no words to describe the loss of Debbie, she will be greatly missed by all and in our hearts forever. We find peace in knowing that Debbie is in heaven smiling and laughing, maybe shopping, but mostly she is now at peace.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Muriel and Charles Meyer, Jr.; her brother Charles Meyer, III., brother James Meyer, and sister Ann Wilson.

She is survived in death by her beloved husband of 55 years Donnie Williamson, her daughter Amy Vasey, son in law Colin Vasey, daughter Keri Gattis, son in law Heath Gattis, grandson Ripp Gattis, step-grandson Spencer Vasey and sister Betty Vinklarek.

Services to celebrate Debbie will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 and the service at 10:30am with burial following at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop, Texas.
