Deann Dorward

Deann Dorward went home to the lord on September 3, 2021.  Mrs. Dorward was born September 28, 1943, in Orange, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Tracey Lambert-Pocock.

She is survived by husband Robert Dorward and children Dawn Dorward, Shawn Dorward, Allen Williams, and Misty Hoffmeister, as well as 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Deann was a devout Christian and dedicated to faith, diligently studied the bible and scripture.  Robert knew that she was a wonderful wife and everyone else  considered her a loving and generous mother, mema, and friend.

She was well known for her incredible and infectious smile.  She loved to camp, spend time with family, crochet, sewing and collecting angels.  Those activities where just part of who she was.  Deann made everyone feel special, no matter who you were or how she knew you.  She was a wonderful mother to her own children and all their friends considered her “mom” too.

Deann’s work life was dedicated to serving people.  She worked mostly  in the government sector, including the IRS, TX Dot and Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles as well as Bastrop County.

The family will have a funeral service in the chapel of Marrs-Jones-Newby at 505 Old Austin Highway, Bastrop, TX 78602 on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM.  There will be a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery at 1307 State Hwy 95, Bastrop, TX 78602, on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 11:15 AM.
