It is with deep sorrow that the family of Celia Coy (Flores) Barrientos announces her peaceful passing on September 24, 2025, at the age of 93 in Austin, Texas.
Celia Coy Barrientos was born on June 18, 1932, in Bastrop, Texas. Celia was cherished and known for her kindness, vibrant spirit, and unwavering dedication to her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joys and accomplishments were the love of her children and grandchildren and the gift of being a mom.
Celia is survived by her children, Mary Elizabeth Champie, Alfred Coy Flores and his wife, Sandra Flores, 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Coy Flores and his wife, Cynthia O. Flores, parents Antonio J. Coy and Maria G. Coy, 7 siblings, and her late husband’s Julio R. Flores and Miguel Barrientos.
A visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, followed by a prayer service from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas.
The following day, Friday, October 3, 2025, services will be held at Ascension Catholic Church in Bastrop. A rosary will begin at 9:00 AM, leading into funeral mass at 10:00 AM,
Interment will be at Alta Vista Cemetery.
