Carla Norred

Carla Jean (Metts) Metcalf, Baggs, NORRED, age 73 went to be with her Lord on June 6th 2017. She was born October 5, 1943 in Lubbock, Texas to Adam and Ruth Metts.

Carla graduated from Haltom City's Birdville High School in 1961. She was the office manager and bookkeeper for the Round Rock Leader newspaper for 25 years. Carla enjoyed hunting, Black Powder Club, painting and sewing. She was an avid gardener and active member of First United Methodist Church of Bastrop.

Surviving Carla are her brother, Adam Metts (Pat); sister, Marilyn Brown (Robert); daughters: Susan Murray (Gary Jr) and Becky Thomas; grandchildren: Chrysta Melancon (Jason), Jarryd Evan Ferkin,JacqulynFowler and Dalton Thomas; great-grandchildren: Ali Garcia, Violet Thompson and Mason Melancon.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist Church on June 25th at 2PM, with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church.
