Bobby Franklin Woehl

March 4, 1943 — November 27, 2023

Bastrop

Bobby Franklin Woehl was born March 4, 1943, in Bastrop, Texas to AJ Woehl Sr and Gladys Faye Turner Woehl. He entered his heavenly rest on November 27,2023 after a brief battle with cancer.

The first thing most people will remember about him is his willingness to help others. He spent his life right until he couldn’t go anymore doing just that.

He loved fishing, deer hunting, golfing, going to church, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. One of his greatest joys in life was when he would get to see his great grandkids. His smile and friendly manner will be greatly missed. He earned the nickname around town as the candy man because he always carried a shirt pocket full of peppermints or butterscotch candies that he would hand out with a smile and say “God bless you.”

One of his greatest accomplishments in life and something he was proud of was being a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother AJ Woehl Jr, sisters: Dorothy Claiborne, Maureen Johnston, and Mary Jo Higgins. Also, his loving first wife of 46 years Karen Woehl and infant son Gershon Woehl.

He leaves behind his wife Bonnie Woehl, daughters: Jean Lang and Kara Goodspeed (Rush), and son Josh Woehl. Brother: Jerry Woehl. Stepdaughters: Angela Quarles, Kristin Halbrook (Clayton), and Megan Neuhring (Jimmy). Grandchildren: Joseph Lang (Barbara), Naomi Ruhe, Ruth Campion, and Michael Bollinger. Step grandchildren: Jake Plante, Landon and Kennedy Halbrook. Great grandchildren: Tristen, Micah, Violet, Sophie, and Karen Lang; Hunter Campion, and Temperance Ruhe. Step great grandchildren: Bubba and Lily Tillman, and Drew and Destrey Ruhe. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

We all couldn’t have wished for a better husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, or friend.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Towers Nursing Home and Texas Oncology for the care and attention given to Bobby.

He is finally home.
