Irene Elizabeth (Lehman) Bauer

Our beloved mother Irene Elizabeth (Lehman) Bauer, 89, of Rockne/Red Rock, Texas passed away on May 16, 2023. She and our father Albert Otto Bauer Sr. (b. 9/10/1930 d. 3/16/1980) married on February 1, 1958 at Rockne Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She is survived by their five children: Connie (Bauer) & husband Doug Thielemann (Giddings), Bonnie Sue Bauer Shimek (Red Rock), Al Bauer Jr. (Red Rock), Kenneth Wayne Bauer & wife Charmaine (Richards) (Bastrop), and Bobby Bauer & wife Rachel (Williams) (Red Rock); Grandchildren: Nicole (Thielemann) & husband Chris Paul, Natalie Thielemann, Jerry Dean Shimek Jr., Weston & Luke Bauer, Bo Kresge & children Julian, Aeriana & Silas Kresge, and great-granddaughter Madison Paul; sister Linda (Lehman) & husband Daniel Nolte (Crawford); and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by: husband Albert Bauer Sr., her parents Margaret (Kadura) & Zeno Lehman, in-laws Wilma & Albert R. Bauer; siblings: Emma (Lehman) & husband James Mayo Sr., John & Joseph Lehman, Clarence Lehman & wife Evia (Barnhart), and Verlin Lehman & wife Gail (Voight).

Pallbearers: grandchildren Nicole Paul, Natalie Thielemann, Jerry Dean Shimek Jr., Weston & Luke Bauer, Julian & Aeriana Kresge; and Kalli (Meuth) Lynch, one of her many previous daycare children.

Mom/MawMaw/Sister/Aunt/Cousin/Friend, you will always be deeply cherished, and loving memories will live within our hearts forever.

The family would like to give special thanks to Mariana Villegas & Jessica Alldredge, heartful caregivers for Mom in the past months.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home.

Rosary and Mass will be Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockne.  The Rosary will be at 10:00am and the Mass will begin at 10:30am with burial following at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
