Ernest Aldridge, age 72, of Bastrop was called to his heavenly home
on April 9, 2018. He was born to Players and Alice Aldridge
September 20, 1945 in Bastrop, Texas. He was the oldest of six children.
Ernest was a veteran who served in the United States Air Force for 4 years.
After his discharge from the military he worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad
and later for the City of Bastrop where he retired. Ernest was a great carpenter.
He was always helping others. He never married but was a mentor to many
children. He was a quiet and thoughtful man. Ernest enjoyed fishing. He went
fishing every Tuesday and would catch enough to share with his neighbors.
It was well known that Tuesday dinner would be fish.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents and other family members. He leaves
to cherish his memory, his brothers, Tilmer, David (Nicole), Emanuel (Debra,
Emanuel Jr., Kendra, Megan), many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
We will all miss and remember Ernest every day.
"Weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning."
