Hank Dean Kennedy made his Journey home on November 19th, 2018. He passed peacefully following a brief illness, in Austin, Texas. Hank was 48 years old.

He was born in Delta, Colorado on March 30th, 1970. He was the oldest son of Eugene M. and Peggy J. (Failing) Kennedy.

Hank was raised in a small town in Western Colorado where he excelled on the wrestling mat and in the rodeo arena. After graduating from Paonia High School in 1988, He was offered several full-ride college scholarships for his wrestling & bull riding abilities. He followed his heart and chased his bull riding dreams, leading him to qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo. Hank’s determination led him to travel the United States as a professional bull rider. Following his college and rodeo days, Hank pursued a career in the communications field, specializing in fiber optics splicing project management.

He had a passion for enjoying life. He will forever be remembered for his contagious smile, sly grin, jokes, pranks and his ability to bring a smile and laughter to those around him. Hank Loved Texas Longhorn Football & treasured time spent with friends and family. Hank liked to be outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing & ranching and raising horses, mean cows and bucking bulls.

Hank’s greatest Joy in life was his two Children. He embraced life with them, and enjoyed providing new opportunities and adventures for them to explore together. Whether at Disney World, exploring oceans or mountains, or at home preparing a new recipe, life was fun. He taught them to dream & pursue the good things life has to offer, and most importantly to enjoy it. Hank was a proud father, often seen with camera in hand capturing memories & moments, big & small, that will forever be treasured by his children.

Hank is survived by his beloved children; daughter Kaylin A. Kennedy, and Son Austin B. Kennedy, both of Bastrop Texas. Parents, Eugene & Peggy Kennedy, Sister Leeann (Cody) Carver; nieces and nephews, ShaRae & Waylen Dorscher & Zoey Kennedy.
